Psychosocial Assessment

A psychiatric assessment may consist of a clinical interview, a medical and mental history, a mental status examination, behavioral observations, and a potential referral for medication evaluation. The psychiatric diagnostic interview concludes with a written report which contains a diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
